From Berlin to Copenhagen

Haulier Van der Vlist has recently delivered the latest 39m three-section AnsaldoBreda metro train to Copenhagen, breaking several records in the process.

The 57-tonne carriages were loaded onto a specialist 10-axle rail trailer following Berlin’s Innotrans; the route out of the city including a section against traffic to avoid weak bridge structures. Upon arrival at the port of Rostock the 39m-long three-carriage metro set the record for the longest ever cargo taken on the ferry to Denmark. Upon disembarking, the convoy became the first public vehicle to drive on the then unopened Nykøbing Falster bypass, due to tight bends and roundabouts in the city.
