First CAF tram arrives in Budapest

The first CAF Urbos low-floor tram has arrived in Budapest, Hungary, from the Spanish manufacturer’s factory.

BKK, the Budapest transport authority, signed a EUR90m contract for 37 trams in March 2014. A firm order for ten more followed, with options for 87 more.

Of the initial order there are to be 25 34m-long five-section vehicles and 12 56m nine-section trams; which are to be assembled at the Dunakeszi Jármujavitó plant.
