The new leader of industry body UKTram has pledged to unite the sector in a shared vision for the future. Delivering the keynote address at the trade body’s summit on 12 September, George Lowder MBE also issued a rallying call to members to help build an increasingly strong case for investment in new and existing networks. Chief Executive of Transport for Edinburgh, Mr Lowder took up the position of UKTram Chairman in August.

“While the UKTram team has been strengthened by a number of key appointments in recent months,” he explained, “now we’re urging members from across the sector to engage with us on developing a clear vision for the future, embracing new technology and building on the success of existing systems as we support the Department for Transport in developing a UK light rail strategy.”
