Six months after work began, the first first-generation refurbished train has entered service on Line 2 of Caracas, Venezuela’s, metro network.

Six months after work began, the first first-generation refurbished train has entered service on Line 2 of Caracas, Venezuela’s, metro network.

The whole fleet, built by Alstom Atlantique in the early 1980s, is to be modernised at a cost of US$1.8m per train. Each is to be upgraded with traction and mechanical equipment, bogies and electronics, bodywork, air conditioning, driver consoles, and new seating.
