A new request for tenders to operate and maintain Dublin’s Luas light rail network was issued on 6 March.
Transdev has operated the network since 2004, and in 2014 was awarded a five-year extension that runs until the fourth quarter of 2019. The new contract will run from then for six years, with an option for a five-year extension. The deal could be worth up to EUR495m with the extension.
The Cross City Line opens in December, when the network will reach 43km (26.7 miles) with three depots and 73 LRVs.
