A EUR926m contract to undertake works on an 8km (five-mile) stretch of Paris’ Line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express has been awarded to a joint venture led by Vinci Construction Grands Projets.
Two tunnel-boring machines will be employed: the first beginning at Arcueil-Cachan towards Villejuif Louis-Aragon, with the second tunneling between Bagneux and Fort d’Issy Vanves Clamart and then from Bagneus to Arcueil-Cachan. Construction is also taking place at five stations on the network.
Promoter Société du Grand Paris has committed to spending almost EUR2bn on Line 15 South this year, with other contracts to be awarded between now and mid-May.
Powers have also been granted for the construction of Line 15 East, running 23km (14.3 miles) from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Champigny Centre, and Line 17 North (19.5km (12-miles) between Le Bourget RER to Le Mesnil-Amelot).
Works are planned to begin in 2018.
